Investigations windlass pen Stephanie Barron a successful series of novels that they see the beloved Jane Austen as a protagonist grappling with cases that highlight how the tube detective.
The writing is very fluid, it is clear that Barron has done thorough research on our heroine, and while much is the fruit of his imagination, can almost make us believe that some events are actually occurring.
The writing style is very Austen and the reading is enjoyable.
The four titles so far published are:
-
Lady Jane and the misfortune of Scargrave
-
Jane and the mystery of Reverend
-
Jane and Locket
-
Jane and the symbol of evil
Before continuing with the review of the second book I read now do a quick review of the first adventure:
JANE AND THE LADY misfortune SCARGRAVE
visiting the ' friend, the young and beautiful Isobel Payne, Countess of Scargrave, Jane Austen witnessed a tragedy: Count Frederick, husband of Isobel, seized by sudden and unexplained illness, died within hours. The untimely death of her husband, after only three months of marriage, throws the poor Isobel in the darkest despair. However, the widow soon finds that it is only the beginning of his misfortunes: the fact shortly thereafter received a mysterious letter which contains dark threats and two charges of murder and adultery. Terrified, Isobel invokes the help of Jane, the only one she can trust, but also the only one among those present at the castle on the night of the tragedy, which do not benefit from the death of Lord Scargrave. Relying on its well- known gifts of understanding of the human soul, Jane finds himself embroiled in a dangerous investigation that will take nothing less than to cross the gates of the prison of Newgate, and even the threshold of the House of Lords, coming to endanger his own life.
The yellow plot is really well crafted, the characters are well delineated and then 'idea in a yellow costume set in 1800 with Jane is fantastic!
