Hammarby is a former industrial area south of Stockholm, now completely decontaminated and upgraded: it has turned into an eco- district, which by 2017 will be ready to house 11,000 apartments and 200,000 square meters of offices and services. The design must take into account many details that will enable significant energy savings , will present a number of biogas digesters that accumulate the degradation of sewage. This gas, made from specially treated, can reach out to different uses: used as fuel for buses and cars, or used in the kitchens of homes. It is not excluded, in a second phase of the project, putting in place processes for reuse of solid waste as fertilizer for agricultural crops.

Obviously electricity is supplied by solar panels , which will be sufficient to illuminate the common areas and to cover a part of the supply of hot water.
The ambitious goal to which you point is to get half the energy needed by the Sun and half from the reuse / processing of waste products: the only hope in the success of the project.
